Saba graduates have achieved a record of success unmatched by graduates of other international medical schools.  Between 2018-2022, 98% of our students have passed the USMLE Step 1 & 2 exam on their first attempt 1 and have also earned competitive residencies at a rate on par with U.S. and Canadian Schools.  The proof is in our numbers with 97% of eligible graduates attaining residencies (2020-2024) 2 .

Saba University School of Medicine holds an accreditation recognized globally, enabling our students to practice medicine in all 50 U.S. states, Canada, the United Kingdom, and various other countries. Our accreditor, the Accreditation Organization of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO), is recognized by the World Federation of Medical Education and its standards have been deemed comparable to the standards used to accredit medical schools in the United States by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation. The NVAO is the accrediting body for the Netherlands and Flanders.  Saba is the only Caribbean medical school that has met the standards of European accreditation.
