Secure Competitive Residencies

Did you know that 97%* of eligible SUSOM MD program participants between 2022 and 2025*  attained residency placement positions?

Every year, our students obtain residencies in  competitive programs at teaching hospitals and medical centers across the U.S. and Canada. SUSOM students have secured residencies in various medical specialties, including anesthesiology, family medicine, internal medicine, neurology and surgery (just to name a few).

To help our students achieve their placement goals, we offer a variety of learning resources and opportunities to help them develop the knowledge, skills and scientific reasoning abilities needed to excel in the most rigorous residency training programs. These include:

  • Extensive Student Support Services, including Faculty Advisors, the Learning Center, academic coaching, student counseling and much more.
  • The gross anatomy laboratory, where MD students learn with real human cadavers, allowing them to conduct detailed studies of the human body.
  • Our Research: Literature Review and Analysis (RLRA) program, which is a multi-semester experience that challenges students to refine research questions, design comprehensive database searches and critically evaluate key evidence.

Funding your Studies

Knowing where to find financial aid for help pursuing your dream of a medical education can feel overwhelming, but eligible students attending the SUSOM MD program can benefit from a range of private and public funding options.

U.S. Federal and Canadian Government Loans

SUSOM MD program students from the United States may be eligible for Title IV student loan funding through the U.S. Department of Education.

Importantly, federal financial aid opportunities are changing on July 1, 2026. U.S. students will no longer be able to borrow up to the full cost of attendance with federal loans, as they will soon be capped.

If you would like to maintain access to current loan structures for three academic years, apply now to start in May 2026!

Canadian students in the MD program are eligible for loans from the government in their province of residence.

Tuition and Scholarships

U.S. students in the MD program are eligible for up $105,000 USD in grants and scholarships.

Canadian students in the MD program are eligible to pay in CAD, saving significantly on tuition costs and reducing concerns about managing the fluctuating exchange rate over 10 semesters, Additionally, they are eligible for up to $45,000 CAD in grants and scholarships.

The reason why I lean towards Saba for prospective students would be it’s not just that you get an amazing education, the costs are much more reasonable than they are at some other schools. You’re still going to be set up in a great place to succeed and... achieve your dreams.

What distinguishes Saba from other schools is the curriculum. It's a school that has been there for many years now, and has years and years and years of success in producing great doctors who have been working all over North America, including Canada and the United States.

We were blessed with really amazing faculty that I thought were really invested in our growth and learning, even beyond the medical science, as people. The small class sizes, which was honestly one of my favorite parts about Saba, made me feel seen and heard.
